Burnt (2015)

Director: John Wells
Stars: Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller and Daniel Bruhl

Summary:
Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) is a former chef who had a perfect career in the restaurant industry earning himself two Michelin stars and a high-end image. He then destroyed this career with drugs and negligent behaviour. The brilliant yet troubled chef then cleaned up his act and returns to London to redeem himself by leaving his bad habits behind and lading his own kitchen to earn another exclusive Michelin Star. On the way he meets Helene (Sienna Miller) who he falls for. Burnt has a bit of comedy but is mostly an emotional and dramatic story about the creation of food, love and the power of second chances.

My Review:
In some scenes the acting was performed really well and seemed incredibly realistic but in other parts, you could tell the script was flawed and it was hard to feel any emotions for the characters. Especially at the beginning, I really had no clue what was happening and the character development was done poorly and rushed. The film was quite good at recreating the culinary intensity of cooking and displaying cliche after cliche. I wasn't really a big fan of the film but I can see why food fanatics may enjoy it. It's a movie that you watch and never really mention again...

My Rating: 6/10
