Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009)
Director: P.J. Hogan
Stars: Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy and Krysten Ritter
Summary:
After Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher), a journalist and compulsive liar who has an addiction with shopping, loses her income source, she unintentionally lands a job writing for financial magazine. She then writes a column called 'The Girl in the Green Scarf' using simple language that could be understood by common people describing shopping and somewhat linking her to addiction to spending. Meanwhile, her debt collector is chasing her and she falls for a wealthy entrepreneur who is her manager at the financial magazine she works for.
My Review:
This movie was a cliche and safe romantic comedy which I found was enjoyable. Although as a female I can't relate to this film, Isla Fisher makes the character appealing and has a great ability to do comedy. The script was cheesy, yet adorable and is a perfect choice if you're looking for something not too cringe worthy. If you love romantic comedies and cliches, you will enjoy this film!
My Rating: 7.5/10
