You Don't Mess with the Zohan (2008)

Director: Dennis Dugan

Stars: Adam Sandler, John Turturro, and Emmanuelle Chriqui

Summary: An Israeli Special Forces Solider (Adam Sandler) fakes his death so he can re-emerge in New York as a hair stylist. When an enemy of Zohan’s during his time in the military is also in New York, Zohan must do his best to avoid him in case of a potential showdown.

My Review: This Action comedy was a movie that actually had me laughing very often. Adam Sandler is a favourite actor of mine so maybe the bias kicks in here. Although the movie isn’t full of great actors and the story line is very simplistic, many critics have rated this movie poorly. The movie for me got very enjoyable once Zohan (Adam Sandler) proved his worth at a hair salon and got a job. The hair salon attracted record customers with even huge lines starting at the front door heading back down the street before the salon had even opened. This was due to Zohan’s full service of not only giving you a great haircut but taking care of any sexual desires you had as well. If you enjoy good and unsuspecting humour like me, then I’d thoroughly recommend this movie to you.

My Rating: 6.5/10
