Summary:
A woman escapes imprisonment by a psychotic ruler in a futuristic post apocalyptic Australia in search for new land and a new beginning. On her journey she attempts to help a group female prisoners and a drifter named Max. Little does she know the psychotic ruler has sent every member of his army (including himself) after them to claim back his prize possession.
My Review:
Struggled to understand this movie until about halfway through. I recommend to watch the earlier version of Mad Max (1979) to potentially gain a better understanding of this latest film. Once I understood though this movie became extremely enjoyable watching how life would be in the dry, harsh, desert lands. As the journey of the woman progresses, she must enter a enormous sand storm during the night with the army close on her tails to have any chance of surviving. This is by far my favourite part of the movie, to see the CGI used showing the inside of a sand storm with fire tornados forming and then suddenly disappearing adding the thrilling, dangerous sequence of going through the sand storm. This movie is not for everyone, I'd recommend it to those who enjoy the thrill of seeing a character escape from captivity in the search for a better life.
